Ellevest

The Challenge

To position former Wall Street-CEO and tech founder Sallie Krawcheck as a thought leader in investing for women, as well as creating brand awareness for her investment platform Ellevest to a lifestyle audience.

Highlights

  • In March 2021, TBG announced Ellevest’s $1B in assets under management in an exclusive article with Forbes.
  • Positioned Sallie Krawcheck as a regular speaker at consumer events like In Goop Health, Create & Cultivate and Girlboss.
  • Secured a monthly finance column from Sallie Krawcheck in Marie Claire and op-eds in Glamour and Fast Company around International Women’s Day
  • Secured video and podcast interviews like BuzzFeed’s LadyLike and Jonathan Van Ness’s Get Curious.
  • Dedicated Ellevest segments in all three major morning shows (TODAY, Good Morning America, CBS This Morning), the Kelly Clarkson Show, as well regular appearances on business / financial broadcast outlets (CNBC, Yahoo Finance, Barrons, Cheddar).
  • Ellevest saw their highest traffic day of the year after a feature on CBS This Morning
  • Secured features for additional Ellevest spokespeople on relevant career, private wealth, and personal finance advice resulting in coverage such as Yahoo Finance, CNBC, and Adweek.
  • Created a press campaign around the seasonal latte phenomenon tied to Sallie’s famous “Buy the f*ing latte” to increase awareness of Sallie and Ellevest, as well as driving customer acquisition.

Our Solution

We built a PR and executive thought leadership strategy that prioritized awareness and elevated Ellevest and Sallie as educational resources and aspirational brands. We zeroed in on consumer-focused digital publications and broadcast outlets to drive new user acquisition; speaking opportunities, and podcasts for Sallie to drive brand awareness; and experiential marketing and activations for product launches.
